You want the lavender and sugar to blend and have a light lilac color.

Lavender buds stand out, and you want to get all the benefits; that’s why blending it with sugar is ideal. Also, you don’t want lavender buds blocking your drains.

When the lavender and sugar blend into a white powder, pour the mixture into a bowl.

Then add the coconut oil and the lavender essential oil, and mix.

Because we blended the sugar, it would take a lot of mixing to get the wet and dry ingredients to mix thoroughly.

But you can add another 1/8 cup of coconut oil and mix.

I prefer crumbly scrubs over runny ones, so I used only 1/8 cup coconut oil.

When the sugar mix is well-moistened, scoop your lavender lemon sugar scrub into a container with a tight lid.

How to store the lavender lemon homemade exfoliant

This scrub will do just fine on the countertop or fridge.

Ideally, it’s best to use homemade scrubs as soon as you make them.

But some last weeks in the fridge.

Maybe cut the recipe in half and use it once.

Or make the full recipe and share it with a friend.

Do what works for you.

How to clean up after making your lavender lemon scrub.

Cleaning up after making your scrub is easy.

Add some water and dish soap to your blender.

Pulse it a few times, pour the soapy water, and rinse the blender with clean water.

And you’re done.

How to use the lemon lavender body scrub

  • Before you shower, spoon some of your relaxing sugar scrub into a container you can use in the bathroom.
  • This step is essential as you don’t want water getting into your body scrub as you won’t use it all in one day.
  • Shower with soap, exfoliating gloves, or washcloth after you set everything up.
  • Rinse your body thoroughly, and dry it with a towel, but leave it damp.
  • Now scoop some lavender lemon scrub with your fingers, apply it to your body and scrub gently.
  • After exfoliating your whole body, leave the scrub for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing off.
  • Don’t dry your skin with a towel.
  • You need the coconut oil to moisturize your skin.
  • So let the water dry on its own.
  • Then you can either moisturize your skin with more coconut oil or your preferred body moisturizer. Or don’t use any moisturizer.
  • Lastly, get dressed, and you’re good to go.

My experience using the homemade lavender lemon exfoliant

I used this homemade lavender lemon skin exfoliant to share a first-hand experience with you.

So after a shower, I dried my skin, but I guess it was too dry.

Because my skin wasn’t damp enough, the scrub mostly fell off.

So I moistened my skin with some water which made it better.

After exfoliating my whole body, I brushed my teeth and washed my face.

Guess I waited about five minutes before rinsing off the lemon lavender body scrub with warm water.

Because I was in a hurry to get out of the house, I dabbed my kin with a towel.

Look at me not heeding my own advice. Stuff happens.

But my skin was still oily.

Then I moisturized with a body lotion.

My skin felt smooth and very moisturized to face the fall dry air.

All in all, I love this lavender lemon sugar scrub recipe.

Conclusion

Boom! That’s a simple lavender lemon sugar scrub recipe for exfoliating and moisturizing your skin this Fall.

You can make this scrub with sugar, coconut oil, lavender, and lemon essential oils.

But I always prefer whole ingredients and some essential oils.
