Morning Face Care Routine for Dry Skin: Drugstore Products

Do you want to learn a quick morning skincare routine to hydrate dry skin?

I have dry skin; before I started this routine, I was too hard on my facial skin.

And since changing how I treat my face, I noticed a significant difference.

My skin absorbs moisturizers better; it feels smooth and looks plump.

This skincare routine will wake up and refresh your face in the morning.

It’s just a quick way to hydrate your face when you’re not ready to shower.

I usually shower after my workouts around 11 or 12 noon.

So this face care routine keeps my skin looking good if I go for a walk or chill at home.

That’s why I won’t mention using any facial wash.

Save the face wash for when you’re ready to shower or bathe.

But if you work early in the morning, use a face wash before moisturizing.

And I’ve practiced this morning skincare routine for months and thought I’d share it with you.

So here’s my morning face care routine for dry skin with drugstore products.

What you need:

1. Start with a face massage

Our faces are usually puffy in the mornings.

So start with a gentle face tap to release tension and improve blood flow to the top of your skin.

Stand in front of your mirror, raise your arms, and relax your shoulders.

Then tap your face with your fingertips.

Start from your forehead and move to your temples and cheekbones until you cover the whole face.

You’d feel the blood rushing to your face.

It is very relaxing.

Move to step two.

2. Next, splash cold water on your face

There’s no need to wash your face in the handwashing basin if you’re preparing to leave for work in the morning.

You can wash your face in the shower before or after you shower.

Otherwise, splash some cold water on your face.

Cold water wakes your skin up.

But you can use lukewarm water if that’s what you prefer.

Nobody wants cold water on their faces when the weather is cold.

Anyway, cold water helps reduce puffiness around your eyes.

So collect water from the tap with your hands and splash the water from the middle of your face towards your ears.

Repeat it several times.

And remember to cup your face as if you want it to soak up water.

You know? Just pamper your face.

3. Next, dab your face with a towel

Don’t rub your face with the towel.

You want to be gentle with your face.

So open the towel on your palms and dab your face gently.

4. Use a moisturizer

Next, apply a good face moisturizer.

I love and use this drugstore moisturizer I found on Amazon (affiliate link).

Apply dots of face moisturizer all over your face, then use your palm to dab it in.

Don’t rub the product on your skin.

You also have to be gentle with your moisturizer application.

Instead, cup your face and press gently so your skin absorbs the moisturizer.

And apply what’s left on your palms to your neck and chest.

5. Or use a face spritz.

I spray this rosewater facial mist (affiliate link) when I don’t want to use a moisturizer.

Sometimes, I spray the spritz on my face when the moisturizer is dried.

But you can skip that step.

Spray your face spritz and let it dry.

Or use your palm to soak it into your skin.

Then wear comfortable clothes and do your other morning stuff.

Is It Bad To Wash Your Face In The Shower?

Should I do my face-care routine in the morning or at night?

It depends on you and your schedule.

If you work nine-to-five jobs, it’s best to do a simple skincare routine in the morning.

That is, washing your face with face soap and moisturizing it before applying makeup.

Then, before going to bed, you can do a proper skincare routine in the evening.

So your nighttime face care routine can include removing makeup, washing, and exfoliating your face.

My nighttime skincare routine looks something like this.

Skincare routine, morning vs. night?

You might need to wear makeup when you do a long skincare routine in the morning. Which, to me, is too much stuff.

Also, you want your skin to absorb the products you apply.

So wearing makeup after facials defeats the purpose.

But you can wear makeup after facials once in a while when you have a special occasion.

When you do a nighttime facial routine, your skin will rest and enjoy the benefits of the treatment.

And you’d wake up beautiful with plump, supple, and healthy-looking skin after a nightly facial.

So, in my opinion, the nighttime skincare routine beats the morning.

Again, do what’s convenient for you.
