Also, use your favorite essential oils if you don’t like the ones I used in this recipe.
Enough said.
Let’s make it.

- 5 drops of cedarwood essential oil

- Next, add the coconut and essential oils to the same bowl.
- Then mix with a fork until both ingredients are well-combined.
- Next, scoop the salt sugar scrub and fill the ice tray with a spoon.
- Remember to use the back of the spoon to smoothen the top of the scrub cubes.
- I got eight salt sugar scrub cubes.
- But you might get more or less depending on the size of your ice tray.
- After filling the ice tray, keep it in the fridge for some minutes or hours if you like.

How to release the salt sugar scrub cubes from the ice tray
- If you’re making these with a silicone ice tray, you can easily peel them off the cubes.
- But if you make the scrub cubes with a regular plastic ice tray, you need to open it the same way you do ice cubes.
- Then turn the ice-tray upside down and beat it gently.
- And the scrub cubes will fall out.
How to store it
- These salt sugar scrub cubes will do just fine in the fridge.
- Please put them in a zip bag or a mason jar with an airtight lid, and keep them in the fridge.
- Though the salt sugar scrub will be okay stored on the countertop.
- But they will lose shape because you need a cool place to keep the coconut oil from melting.
- Which also softens the scrub cubes.
- So make sure to store them in the refrigerator.
Cleaning up after making it
Soak your bowl, spoon, and measuring cups in warm soapy water.
Wash lightly with dish soap and a scrubber.
Then rinse with clean water.

- Then get dressed.
My experience after using the DIY salt sugar scrub cubes
- Luckily I got to try the salt sugar scrub cubes after making them.
- I’ve avoided exfoliating my body with salt scrubs because my first experience wasn’t pleasant.
- So I mostly use salt scrubs for foot exfoliation.
- But I thought salt and sugar should be different.
- And I guess I was right to an extent.
- Anyway, I felt a light sting on my neck and back while exfoliating my body with the salt sugar scrub cubes.
- I’m unsure if it was the salt or the cedarwood essential oil.
- But I’m leaning towards the salt because I’ve used products with cedarwood essential oil before.
- And I had no issues with them.
- But the sting wasn’t unbearable.
- And after I rinsed my body, the sting was gone.
- Then I pat my body with a towel, dressed, and relaxed.
- My skin was so moisturized that I didn’t need to use a moisturizer.
- Thanks, coconut oil.
- Also, I need to add that I used the salt scrub cubes on my face and neck too. Which I hardly do.
- And I was worried that I might break out. Or that the salt might dry up my facial skin since salt is known to dehydrate the skin.
- But my skin facial and body skin didn’t dry up at all. Again, thanks to the coconut oil.
- And the next day, my skin looked brighter and smoother.
- Guess the salt scrub is going to be one of my favorites for face and body exfoliation.
Things to look out for when using the salt sugar scrub cubes
First of all, this scrub isn’t messy to use.
It spreads quickly on damp skin.
But your bathtub or shower floor would be a bit oily or slippery.
So wash the tub or shower floor with soap before you step out.
This would help you avoid accidents now or the next day.
