If your coffee scrub was made with honey, I doubt it would hold shape even if you add coconut oil.
That said, let me show you how to steps to make homemade coffee scrub bars.

How to make homemade coffee scrub bars with previously made coffee scrub
First, ensure your coffee scrub is made with coconut oil, not honey.
My coffee scrub was made with coffee, cocoa, sugar, and coconut oil.
And because it stayed long in the fridge, it was dry and crumbly.
So I transferred it from the jar into a bowl.
Then I added 1/4 cup of coconut oil and 1/4 tsp. of vanilla extract.
Mix until the ingredients are well-combined.
Then scoop into the soap mold and store in the fridge to harden.
Once the scrub bars are cold enough, you can remove them from the soap mold and use them.
How to release the coffee scrub bars from the soap mold
Silicone soap molds are flexible, which makes removing soap and scrub bars easy.
You can peel off one scrub bar at a time to keep them from denting.
Or turn the soap mold upside down, and the bars will fall out.
How to store your DIY coffee body scrub bars
Store them in an airtight container or a ziplock bag in the fridge for as long as you want.
But it’s best to use the DIY scrubs within days of making them.
Most scrubs made with coconut oil without water can last weeks on your countertop or fridge.
But most people prefer to make and use fresh DIY scrubs.
So use them up as soon as you can.
Or share with a friend.

How to use DIY coffee scrub bars
- Before you take a shower, make sure to get the DIY coffee scrub bar out of the fridge.
- And put it in a container in the bathroom.
- So the heat in your bathroom can warm and soften it a little and becomes easier to use.
- Nobody wants a cold hard coffee scrub bar on their body.
- After that, take a warm shower.
- Rinse and dry your body but leave it a bit wet.
- Next, rub your coffee scrub bar on your damp, warm skin.
- The warmth of your skin will soften the scrub bar even more.
- Making it easier to spread on the skin.
- When your whole body is covered in coffee scrub, exfoliate gently.
- You know coffee grounds aren’t like sugar that melts.
- So scrub gently to get the most benefit without irritating your skin.
- And make sure to pay more attention to parts of your skin with hyperpigmentation.
- Leave the scrub on for several minutes before rinsing out with warm water.
Helpful tips to remember when using the scrub bars
First, these coffee scrub bars contain oil, so your bathtub or shower floor will get a little slippery.
So wash your shower floor/tub after exfoliating and rinsing your body to avoid falling.
Next, coffee scrubs leave a dark residue on your skin even after rinsing your body.
Which can stain your towels and clothes.
So remember to use a dark-colored towel and dark-colored clothes after coffee exfoliation.
Lastly, coffee scrubs are very messy.
Expect that your tub or shower will be covered in coffee grounds and brown stains.
Again, please wash the tub after scrubbing and rinsing your body.
Benefits of coffee and cocoa to the skin
Before discussing the benefits of these cocoa coffee scrub bars, it’s essential to do a patch test before using any new skincare product.
Whether homemade or drugstore.
Also, if you’re allergic to the ingredients in a product, it’s best not to use it.
Lastly, coffee scrubs are very gritty, so exfoliate gently to get the utmost benefits.
Exfoliation
Of course, this is a scrub, so it was made to exfoliate your skin.
And exfoliating with coffee removes dead skin and leaves your skin feeling smooth and rejuvenated.
Brightens dull skin
One of the reasons I love coffee for skin exfoliation is because it brightens dull skin.
And also, because exfoliation promotes blood flow to the skin, coffee scrubs help your skin glow naturally.
Caffeine in coffee helps reduce puffiness and redness on the skin, mainly when used as a face scrub.
Rich in antioxidants.
This DIY coffee scrub bar recipe contains cocoa powder, rich in antioxidants called flavanols.
This antioxidant helps protect your skin from UV rays and other environmental pollution.
Helps hydrate your skin
Exfoliation with coffee and cocoa can improve skin hydration, as they help lock in moisture.
Also, coconut oil in this coffee scrub bars recipe will make your skin moisturized, smooth, and supple after exfoliation.
Coffee helps reduce cellulite.
When applied topically (as in exfoliation), coffee can temporarily tighten the skin and give it a firmer and smoother appearance.
Removes dark spots and brightens the skin
Coffee and cocoa have properties that help reduce the appearance of dark spots and skin blemishes.
For a quick glow, exfoliate your face with coffee and honey.
Over time you’d notice your face looking brighter and spots fading off gently.
That’s because coffee exfoliation unclogs your pores, which helps make the skin clearer.
