How to make DIY sugar scrubs with berries

Before we begin, here’s what we’re going to make:

  1. Blackberry sugar scrub,
  2. blueberry sugar scrub,
  3. cranberry sugar scrub,
  4. raspberry sugar scrub and
  5. strawberry sugar scrub.

What you need

Ingredients

  1. Berries – strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, cranberries,
  2. Sugar – 1lb bag,
  3. Coconut oil (optional)

Tools

  1. Food processor or blender,
  2. Mason jars with lids,
  3. Twine or ribbon – if you’re gifting (twine makes it more homemade) and,
  4. Labels.

Directions

Since we have five different berries, make one berry sugar scrub at a time.

Follow the directions and change only the fruit for each recipe, except for the cranberry sugar scrub.

  • Blend your berries into a puree,
  • then with a fork, mix one to two tablespoons of fruit puree with a cup of sugar.
  • If you prefer a thinner berry sugar scrub, add more fruit puree.
  • Or make your scrub thicker using only a tablespoon of the fruit.
  • Then, transfer the berry sugar scrub into a mason jar and decorate it with a ribbon or twine.

If you are making this a gift, send it out immediately or use it within days.

  • Blend some strawberries into a puree,
  • mix one to two tablespoons of the puree with a cup of sugar.
  • There, you have a strawberry sugar scrub.

3. DIY Blackberry body scrub

How to make a Blackberry sugar scrub

  • Blend fresh or frozen blackberries in a food processor or blender.
  • Then, mix one to two tablespoons of fruit puree with a cup of sugar.
  • Add some coconut oil if you like.
  • Mix it up, and your blueberry scrub is ready.
  • Use within two days of making.

How to exfoliate your body with your DIY fruit sugar scrubs

  • First, scoop your fruit scrub into a container you can use in the shower.
  • This would keep the remaining scrub fresh.
  • Next, shower to wash off oil and dirt from your body.
  • Then dab your body with a towel, but leave it damp.
  • Next, spread a generous amount of your favorite berry scrub all over your body and exfoliate gently.
  • Leave it for several minutes; five to ten minutes is just fine.
  • Then rinse completely with warm water.
  • Dry your body, and use a moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.
  • Now relax and enjoy your fresh, glowing skin.

      Fruit scrubs should be made and used up the same day or stored in the fridge for a couple of days.
      I always prefer to make fruit sugar scrubs and use them up the same day.

      Here are some scrubs with longer shelf life:
