This post will discuss the habits of women who are always fit.

Being fit isn’t just about the number on the scale reducing.

Instead, it is about building a healthy lifestyle that benefits your mental and physical well-being.

So, let’s explore the daily habits of fit women to help you on your fitness journey.

10 Habits of Women Who Are Always Fit

As someone who has stayed fit for several years, here are some of my daily habits:

1. Have a workout plan and stick to it

Women who are always fit have some workout plan.

Without a workout plan, you’ll be winging it and have no direction.

Which makes it challenging to set fitness goals and reach them.

That’s why you must have a workout routine.

Ensure your routine isn’t too hard that you lose interest.

Whatever workout you choose, make sure it works with your current schedule.

I work out three times a week because I have other commitments.

2. Move your body every day

Aside from having a workout plan, women who are always fit move their bodies daily.

They include simple habits like parking far away and walking to the office or store.

To get more steps in and burn more calories.

So, find more ways to move your body depending on your liking.

Long walks in the evening help me clear my head and enjoy the fresh air.

But if you don’t like walking, you can try swimming, gentle yoga sessions, dance classes, etc.

3. Do activities you enjoy

Understandably, you might not like certain kinds of exercise.

But to stay fit, find movements you enjoy, like dancing, hiking, swimming, and even group yoga sessions.

I love strength training, walking, and yoga.

But you’ll never catch me in a group fitness class.

It’s just not my thing.

But clearly, people who do group fitness classes enjoy them.

And when you enjoy activities, you’re more likely to stick to them.

4. Fuel your body

Fit women understand that to stay fit, you must fuel your body well.

They nourish their bodies with whole foods that provide energy.

Though they eat mindfully, fit women don’t deprive themselves.

But you can make tiny switches, like swapping bread for potatoes with your omelet.

Potatoes are delicious, filling, and have more fiber than wheat bread.

Another healthy swap I’ve made to stay fit is eating Greek yogurt instead of ice cream.

We sometimes buy ice cream as a treat for birthdays or when hosting friends.

Tiny changes like these are what help some women stay fit always.

5. Ditch the cheat days

Since I started my fitness journey, I have never included cheat days.

Instead, I try to balance my meals.

I still eat a burger, cookie, chocolate, or pizza occasionally.

Then maybe on our anniversary, we’ll have dinner at a restaurant.

Aside from that, I eat mostly home-cooked meals.

6. Get more sleep

Getting enough sleep helps muscle recovery, regulates your hormones, and improves your overall health.

And fit women prioritize sleeping through the night.

Sleeping recharges your body and improves your mood.

If you’re having trouble falling asleep quickly, try drinking peppermint or camomile tea just before bedtime.

To set the mood for a long restful night.

Doing bedtime yoga is also a great way to improve your sleep.

So plan your nighttime routine and get more shut eyes to wake up refreshed and ready to face the day.

7. Drink more water

Women who are always fit drink enough water for their bodies.

Drinking more water benefits your entire body and your workouts.

Also, water keeps your skin healthy and youthful and regulates body temperature.

The more water you drink, the easier your body digests food and flushes out waste products.

Some tips to drink more water include:

  • Drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning.
  • Keep your water within reach and
  • Use a water-drinking reminder app to stay hydrated.

I always keep a cup of water by my bedside and drink it when I wake up.

Only after that will I get my morning coffee.

So reduce the soda and sweet teas, which are full of sugars and unwanted calories.

And start drinking plain old water, homemade lightly sweetened tea, or sugar-free flavored water.

8. Push yourself hard at physical activities

Another habit of fit women you can emulate is giving your best in your workout.

Fit women have a workout routine and kill it hard every time they work out.

So, always strive to make progress a little bit at a time.

I can progress 2 to 5 lbs weekly for some of my workouts.

While for some, I can go even higher quickly to see if my body can lift it.

And if it does, I’ll use that for a few weeks before going higher again.

So make your workouts count, and ensure you’re killing every session.

9. But also take rest days

Make sure you have complete rest days without moving your body.

Some people like active rest days, which is fine.

But inactive rest days are essential to help your muscles recover and grow.

Besides, working out without resting can lead to injuries and fatigue.

Also, taking rest days won’t hurt your gains.

Instead, you’ll feel stronger and ready to move when you return to your workout routine.

I add rest days by working out alternate days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

So, each time I go to the gym, my body has recovered from the last session.

10. Lastly, don’t compare yourself to anyone

To stay fit, it’s important not to compare your fitness journey to others.

Fit women focus on their goals.

They don’t compare their gains to anyone else’s.

And they strive to be better than they were yesterday.

So, the plan is to do better and make daily progress.

Every time you go to the gym, crush your workout.

Don’t bother yourself about anyone staring at you.

They’re probably not.
